Platypus Park Riverside Retreat: 2012

Platypus Park Riverside Retreat is a 50 acre certified organic farm; growing mangoes and grazing cattle and sheep. The property is situated on the banks of the Burnett River approximately 20km west of Bundaberg.

The Villa is situated on the high bank overlooking the river. River access is available via a private boat ramp with a pontoon for guests to moor their boat or fish. The river is a non-tidal fresh water system ideal for water skiing enthusiasts who can take advantage of 20km of river. Fish in the river include barramundi, bass, sleepycod, yellowbelly and catfish.

Early mornings are the best time to view the platypus which live in the river and in a large creek which meanders through the property. The creek is a wonderful place to explore in the free canoes available to visitors. This gives people the opportunity to see the diverse eco system surrounding the creak in the sub-tropical forest. Bush turkeys, water monitors, turtles, possums, sugar gliders and platypus are only some of the animals which inhabit the creek and its surrounding banks.

The property is ideal for families or couples who want a secluded holiday experience away from the crowds. Visitors can also enjoy a hit of golf on the four hole family course or perhaps a round of volleyball. If this appears to strenuous feel welcome to sit and relax on the private veranda, enjoying the boastful views of the magnificent Burnett River.
